SAM Ssimbwa feels the crop of youngsters at Express FC will help him rewrite his glorious chapter in the Kakungulu Cup competition this season.

The youthful Red Eagles tactician claims rejuvenated youngsters Sam Kasawuli and Hamza Ssemogerere will deliver on their potential in the knock-out competition which has been left to serve as consolation to the club’s disastrous league campaign.

Ssimbwa, the architect behind Mbale Heroes’ amazing Kakungulu Cup run in 2000, is seeking a personal Kakungulu Cup double.

“We have the potential to move places in the competition. It has and is still a rebuilding process here but the talent in the team is simply amazing. I have it in me to make this team a better side,” Ssimbwa pointed out ahead of their third round meeting with Kampala Utoda today.

Ssimbwa's first game in charge at Wankulukuku saw the competition’s cup holders breeze 3-1 past lowly Baza Holdings a fortnight ago.

In the Super League, the champion and relegated teams might be decided this week, with crucial matches for defending champions URA and relegation dogged Iganga and Heroes.

URA takes on Heroes tomorrow in a match they have to win ahead of their tie with KCC on Friday. Poor results would put the champions celebrations in jeopardy.

URA, who were held by Villa on Saturday, are six points away from being crowned champions with four matches to go.

But it is Heroes who will be in dire need of three points tomorrow to jump out of the relegation zone.

The Eastern side, on the brink of relegation, has to get maximum points from the tie ahead of their final match with fellow relegation-bound Mukono.
