HAVING a modern kitchen has for long been the dream of many ladies. Even with improvements like blenders, coffee makers, vegetable cutters and juice squeezers- the demand for whole purpose yet versatile kitchen gadgets has remained.

However, the multi-purpose food processor, one of the latest contributions on the market, seems to be turning things around.

The new machine is supplied with a range of attachments aimed at tackling almost any food preparation task. With its high quality brushed metal body and a powerful 900 watt motor, the multi-purpose food processor has a large capacity (3 litre) bowl and a glass liquidiser.

“There is also a citrus press and centrifugal juicer (for fruit and vegetables). There are two different shredding and slicing discs.

Mixing your own curry, chopping herbs, nuts and bread-crumbs can also be done with the processor,” said Michael Ddungu, a salesman at Game Stores.

“The cutting blade is excellent for chopping onions and even dicing garlic while the main cutting blade makes light work of cake making. The blender is excellent for making soup, drinks and bread-crumbs.

More so, all components of the equipment are easy to wash,” says Enoch Magambe of Household Shop on Colline House.

The processor also comes with main cutting blades — one to use with the large bowl and the other with the smaller, a plastic spatula, a dough blade, two whisk blades and four main slicing inserts.

The multi-purpose food processors also come with recipe books.
The cost depends on the brand names; Kenwood (sh280,000), Sunbeam (sh150,000), Salton (sh135,000) and Deluxe (sh150, 500).
