Qute Kaye unplugs female fans

SURPRISED that Qute Kaye spent the last few hours to his unplugged session toning his muscles rather than honing his vocals?

SURPRISED that Qute Kaye spent the last few hours to his unplugged session toning his muscles rather than honing his vocals?

He anticipated his crowd so well; it was not surprised therefore, that 99% of the jam-packed crowd at the Club-sponsored Silk Lounge last Thursday were women!
Even for someone with a Midas touch, Kaye was lost for words.

Later, when he recovered his voice, there was no stopping. When Kaye crooned, the ladies ‘swooned’ in ecstasy.

To the keen listener, Kaye’s voice was not the one we have become accustomed to. Often times his voice was bland and indistinguishable and what killed it more was his failure to synchronise with his band. But who cared?

Ragga Dee might have forgotten he was curtain raising when he put up a performance that was far better than when he had his own unplugged session.

Rachael Kiwanuka was a revelation. Her duet with Kaye reminded one of Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle’s hit A Whole New World.

However, what left fans mulling over themselves were the free Qute Kaye CDs given at the entrance. If they were not impressed by his voice at Silk Lounge, at least they retreated home to listen to his finer voice.
