SIR — I commend the Kaliro LC5 chairman, Elijah Kagoda for speaking the truth that Kaliro district is underfunded. Kaliro is allocated sh150m in the annual budget. It is very difficult to cater for its five sub-counties on such a budget.
The district has only two functional vehicles, an ambulance and a car for the water department. This makes the implementation of its work impossible.
We are demoralised by the fact that the government thinks that Kaliro is too remote to receive enough funds to improve its delivery of services.
We would be grateful if our MPs, Wambuzi Gagawala and Mbeize Kisila pushed for a bigger budget allocation.
Kaliro’s budget is too slim
