KKL fly out for Tivoli, Gothia cup defence

THE Kampala Kids League U-15 side departed for the month-long Euro soccer tour that will see them play in the Tivoli, Gothia World Youth Cup and the Football Festival in Denmark and Sweden.
The Commissioner of Sports at the Ministry of Education and Sports Dan Tamwesigire handed over the national flag to the touring party of 20 players and four officials on Wednesday at Acorns Schools, Nakasero.
“This is not about KKL, but you are representing Uganda as a whole. You are our ambassadors at the tournament,†Tamwesigire said before handing over the flag.
Brussels Airlines, the official carrier of the KKL youth players, will fly the team to Denmark to defend their Tivoli Cup for a record fifth time.
The Tivoli Cup is competed for in the outskirts of Copenhagen in a small town called Hillerod and commences on July 9-14.
KKL will also be vying for an unprecedented fifth title at the Gothia World Youth Cup in Gothenburg from July 15-21.
They will also be seeking a hat-trick at the Football Festival in Aarhus from July 24-28. The team was seen off by various sponsors like Stanbic Bank, Brussels Airlines, Shell Uganda, AIG Insurance, AON Uganda, Rwenzori Water, uganda telecom, NCS, FUFA, Club 5, Kwera Uganda together with a number of the German Embassy and European Union officials.
