PRAISE Asiimwe Akankwatsa is the reigning Miss Uganda and Public Relations Officer of the newly opened Casino Simba at Garden City. She talked to Pidson Kareire about her love life.

Who is the man in your life?
I do have one, but prefer not to mention his name because he loves his privacy. And I respect his preference.

How is your relationship?
Yes. He is not in Kampala and we both have tight schedules, but we always try to put much time into our relationship as we balance our work schedules. None of us is complaining. We understand each other.

How well do you know men?
All my life I have lived with men. My father is my bestfriend. At my age, I know what a man is thinking about and all their wicked intentions. I know that in every man’s mind there is a drop of wickedness. Anyway, most men are opportunists.

They say beautiful girls are lousy lovers. Are you?
First, I rarely judge someone by his or her looks; these are all deceptions. Secondly, I think it is not true. In which year was that research done? What I know is that beautiful women have a lot of temptations; they need help.

What would be the best approach to convince a beautiful girl like you?
I always look at someone who is down to earth and I think someone does not need to go to the school of convincing to get me. You only have to be yourself.

Between money and love, what comes first?
Well, I think love comes first because you can have money but if there is no love, things will not work out. You will always be miserable. Money is needed to facilitate love, but is not a priority.

With your quality of beauty, how many phone calls do you receive from men per day?
First of all, I am not the most beautiful. I am just one beautiful girl lucky enough to represent other Ugandan beauties. And about phone calls, they are not so many — not as many as when I had just been crowned. Oh! It was too much! However, the advances are still many.
What do you do to such callers?
When you hold such positions you learn how to handle people. You say no in a polite way. I have been polite but assertive.

What do you think makes a woman sexy?
The way she looks at her body, the way she dresses, walks and presents herself has implications.

How do you stay in such amazing shape?
I exercise a lot and live a stress-free life. I eat the right food and smile a lot. That is my secret.

What do you think about size zero?
Everyone should love themselves the way God made them. No matter what size you are, you will get someone to appreciate you.

Is there anything you have learnt about men?
Most of them are opportunists; they want to use you and dump you and put you down to a statistic, but there are some genuine men out there.

When do you intend to have your first born?
I am yet to discus it with him. But, God willing, it will be around 2010.

Do you have a different life from that we read in papers?
Some papers portray me as a drunkard and socialite, but I’m not. I am quite different from the public eye.
