Nandala advised

He could not stomach it any more! Buvuma county MP, William Nsubuga, on Tuesday broke his silence when he lashed out at the public accounts committee chairperson Nandala Mafabi over the way he conducts committee business. “Mr. Chairman, I am disappointed with the way we are proceeding. We handle queries as if we are in a bar. We should be precise,” Nsubuga charged. We hope the chairman will put his house in order.

Sex analysis

Kinkizi East MP Chris Baryomunsi told the House on Tuesday that Uganda’s rapid population growth is due to people’s sexual behaviour and the high fertility rate of women which enables them to manufacture over 1,000,000 babies annually. Before he completed his statement, minister Kibirige Ssebunya took to the floor and said: “human beings when stressed, enjoy sex more.” But Bushenyi MP Mary Karooro Okurut submitted: “When powers goes off people tend to enjoy sex and produce more.”

Opondo sceptical

NRM deputy spokesperson Ofwono Opondo does not seem to believe in MP James Kakooza’s campaign to petition President Museveni to stand for a fourth term. Opondo, who addressed journalists at NRM headquarters last Friday, said: “Ask Kakooza about his project. Why put us to task to explain what we don’t know. Ask Kakooza to produce the so-called list with signatures and if he does not produce it, then it is a hoax.”

Rugunda teased

He expected to address policy matters only to be diverted to personal issues.
Internal affairs minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda was recently teased by a journalist at the Uganda Media centre. A UBC journalist who first hailed the minister for the good work he has done in the Juba peace talks ended on another note asking him how soon he expects to become a grandfather after his son’s wedding. Rugunda who was caught off guard by the question, glanced at his colleagues and simply smiled. Wish you good luck Ndugu.
