BOBI Wine’s Firebase Crew is no more. The group recently changed their name to Republic of Uganja. However, all members keep their portfolios with Bobi Wine as the president and Buchaman, the vice- president.

To drive their point home, the group recently acquired a short-chassis bus registration number UaJ 569H.
Codenamed Bus Duniya, the vehicle has a screaming banner on its rear windscreen: THE GHETTO REPUBLIC OF UGANJA.
For those that could miss the message due to a language barrier, the pictures are there: Two fresh ganja leaves sandwiching the words like quotation marks.
Right below the ganja leaves are the words: WARNING!!! DIS BUS IZ OWNED BY BAD MEN U HIT IT! THEY HIT U!! The bus has raging flames of fire, the trademark symbol of the Firebase Crew, emblazoned all over its body.
On its front, the bus has the words FIREBASE NALO 100% BAD NEWS, then WAR BUS just above the number plate. But stepping into this ‘war bus’ is an entirely different experience. It is a comfort zone.
What with the trappings it boasts of, from DStv, 3D music system, a coffee maker, refrigerator, to a working area.
So equipped is the bus, that crew member Buchaman thinks the only facility it lacks is a chimney to conduct fumes out of this uganja republic!
