FUFA wants arbitration for the High Court case in which Mbale Heroes FC had secured a court order to stop the federation from running the league.

The federation’s legal officer Fred Muwema said yesterday that they will ask court to allow the conflict to be settled by an arbiter.
The High Court in Kampala yesterday started reviewing the file after it was brought from Mbale.

FUFA say they had the original order lifted by another court directive.

“The court lifted that order and they now want to listen to both sides. As for us (FUFA), we want arbitration as provided for by the FIFA statute,” Muwema said yesterday.

But Kavuma Kabenge, the lawyer representing Mbale Heroes, dismissed Muwema’s claims. He contends that the order could not have been lifted before the file had been reviewed.

Meanwhile, KCC faces a stern test against Mutundwe Lions in the Kakungulu Cup quarter-final at Nakivubo today.

KCC that will be without nine injured first choice players including captain Nathan Mutenza, got some relief with a one-month pay on their arrears.

But the technical side is not well as coach Jackson Mayanja failed to raise numbers for a training session on Wednesday.
“The situation is terrible. Only five players were able to train,” Mayanja lamented. Even Super League top scorer Hamis Kitagenda is also unfit.
