LORD’S Resistance Army rebels deputy leader Vincent Otti has asked for popular Acholi singer Bosmic Otim to go and entertain them in Ri-Kwangba.

Gulu RDC Col. Walter Ochora, during his weekly programme on Gulu-based Radio Mega FM, yesterday said Otti specifically requested for the musician.

“When Otti rang me by satellite phone on Wednesday, he emphasized that Otim Bosmic should go and entertain the LRA and the 500 people from the Acholi community, who are going to Ri-Kwangba soon,” he said.

Otim has produced many albums about the war in Northern Uganda and the need for peace.

Some of his songs appeal directly to Otti and Kony, asking them to abandon the war and come back home so that the IDPs can return to their villages.

Otim’s manager, John Obita, confirmed that Otti had called them some two weeks ago, requesting for Otim and two other local artistes, Lady Mariam, the singer of Tindatiine (from Western Uganda) and a Kampala-based singer called Ruth Cut.

“I told Otti it would only be possible if Bosmic could go with the group of 500 but not alone,” he said, adding that the song Otti wanted most was Peace Returns.
