Can contraceptives deform a baby?

I want to know the effects of getting pregnant while on contraceptive pills. Would the baby be deformed by the pills? If so, how can I prevent this?
Victor

Dear Victor,
Billions of women all over the world have been using contraceptive pills for many years. The pills used for family planning are very safe. They are made of hormones similar to the ones that human bodies produce.
The pills prevent pregnancy when they are being used, but a woman would become fertile again when they are stopped. The pills cannot deform the baby and are also safe for the woman.

How soon will I heal after circumcision?

Dear Doctor,
I am planning to get circumcised, but I have a new job so I do not want to miss any day. Will circumcision affect my days at work? How long will it take for me to heal and when can I begin enjoying sex?
James

Dear James,
A circumcision is a minor operation, which takes about an hour, while healing takes five to seven days. With the best care, it is possible to have the operation done and you returning home the same day. Full recovery depends on how quickly you heal. Ideally, it should be possible to have a circumcision done, say on Friday evening and be back in office on Monday, though a little sore. You should be able to have sex after three weeks. Discuss all aspects of your operation with your surgeon. He or she will give you guidelines on when you should expect to be up and functional after the operation.

My girlfriend insists on seeing my semen

Dear Doctor,
My girlfriend insists on seeing my sperms every time we have sex. Of what benefit are they to her life? I also want to know about safe days because her monthly days keep changing. Where is the clitoris found? She likes oral sex; does it affect me in any way?
David

Dear David,
‘Sperms’ contain male gametes to make a baby. That is their use. I cannot think of another biological use. To your partner, your ‘sperms’ are a sign that you are ‘satisfied’. Maybe she just wants to know whether she has ‘satisfied’ you.
A woman’s monthly periods do not follow a calendar, but an internal body clock. It may come on different dates. Visit a family planning specialist (midwife, counsellor) with your girlfriend to get more information about the safe days.
The clitoris is the small finger-like bit of flesh found immediately at the entrance to the vagina.
Many couples give each other pleasure through oral sex. However, as with genital sex, you can get a sexually-transmitted disease through oral sex. It should not be done when your partner has an STD.
