Test for HIV, soldiers urged

GULU-UPDF soldiers have been urged to establish their sero statuses to enable them plan for the future. The army’s 4th Division operation and training officer, Col. Sam Kiwanuka, explained that it is good for someone to know his sero status so as to get HIV/AIDS treatment early. He was speaking at the closure of a workshop on child rights at the division headquarters on Monday. “I want all the soldiers in the 4th division to go for voluntary HIV/AIDS counselling and testing. There are free ARVs for people living with AIDS in Gulu Military Hospital," Kiwanuka said.
