The world’s most expensive car

THE Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is the fastest, most powerful, and most expensive street-legal car in the world. It is built by Volkswagen subsidiary Bugatti Automobiles SAS in France.

Named after French racing driver Pierre Veyron, it is the world's second modern supercar with 16 cylinders, after the Cizeta Moroder V16T.

The Veyron features a W16 engine —16 cylinders in 4 banks of 4 cylinders, (V8 engines mated in a "W" configuration). Each cylinder has 4 valves, for a total of 64. The engine is fed by four turbochargers.

It has a dual-clutch computer-controlled manual transmission with 7 gear ratios via shifter paddles behind the steering wheel. It can be driven by full automatic transmission. It also features full-time all-wheel drive. It has 10 radiators. According to Volkswagen, the final production Veyron engine has 1001 horsepower. This makes it the most powerful production road-car engine in history. Only 75 cars are manufactured each year.

Forget the Hummers. Patsors and musicians are now truly challenged to bring a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 to the streets of Kampala.
