<b>UWA petitioned over elephants</b><br>KANUNGU - The LC3 chairman of Kihihi sub- county, Nelson Natukunda, has petitioned the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) over a herd of elephants which has invaded the area.

KANUNGU - The LC3 chairman of Kihihi sub- county, Nelson Natukunda, has petitioned the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) over a herd of elephants which has invaded the area. He said the elephants from the Queen Elizabeth National Park had destroyed crops in Nyanga, Kibimbiri and Rushoroza parishes, causing food insecurity. “UWA should come to our rescue because we are in the planting season, so we might be left with nothing to harvest.”

Mufti elected co-moderator
KAMPALA - The Mufti, Sheik Shaban Mubaje, has been elected the co-moderator of the African Council of Religious Leaders for an international body, the Religion for Peace. The largest international coalition of religious representatives is dedicated to promoting peace. The Religion for Peace brings together Anglicans, Muslims, Catholics, Hindu and Orthodox leaders.

Kyafu tips preachers
IGANGA - The LC5 chairman, Asuman Kyafu, has urged street preachers to engage in income generating activities to improve their standards of living.“You find them on the streets from morning to evening. When do they work,” Kyafu wondered. while commissioning a classroom block and a latrine worth sh50m at Busembatia Primary School in Namalemba sub-county. The project was funded by the school facilitation grant.
