Ayeko gets Bronze at world varsity games
SIMON Ayeko won Uganda her first and only medal so far at the World University Games in Thailand — a bronze — in the 5000m on Sunday.

SIMON Ayeko won Uganda her first and only medal so far at the World University Games in Thailand — a bronze — in the 5000m on Sunday.
The Kampala International University student clocked 14 minutes 10.93 seconds to finish third behind Hallil Akkas of Turkey and Japan’s Yuki Matsuaka at the Thammasat University ground in Bangkok.
Ayeko’s next target is the 3000m steeplechase final, after posting the third best time in the semi-final on Saturday. He will also be running the 10000m.
Uganda was represented in swimming, table tennis and badminton in the games that end Saturday. Uganda won three gold medals in the 2005 edition.
