CITY BEAT magazine has become fully glossy, bigger and better. The lifestyle magazine is published by The New Vision.

“There is need to upgrade our magazines to international standards, and this is the beginning,” said Tony Glencross, The New Vision sales and marketing manager.

“We have introduced new and improved printing techniques to match the improved paper quality. You will see higher design standards and editorial quality.”

While City Beat has been around for a while, the local magazine market is still relatively new, although growing.

There is also an increasing demand from advertisers and readers for higher quality magazines. The New Vision currently produces three magazines including, Premiership and Bride & Groom.

“When we started, the market was hardly there. So we begun with cheap entertainment reading,” said The New Vision magazines editor, Kalungi Kabuye.

“But now we have to move and grow with the market. We shall launch new magazines soon.”
