UTODA to react to case

KAMPALA-The Uganda Taxi Operators and Drivers Association (UTODA) have up to August 28 to respond to allegations that one of their members discriminated against a person with a disability. This was contained in a letter by Ida Nakiganda of the Uganda Human Rights Commission. Fred Mugerwa, a law graduate, claims that Hussein Kabuye, 39, and Dominic Mukiibi, 23 refused him to board their taxi on grounds that he would delay them.

Engabu to stay on market

KAMPALA-THE Ministry of Health will not withdraw the Engabu condom brand. Addressing journalists at the Grand Imperial Hotel last week, the state minister, Dr. Richard Nduhuura, dismissed claims that the condoms were substandard. “Initially, the condoms were rejected due to the foul smell. The people thought that they were rotting but now they have been improved,” he said.

He added that the condoms had helped save the lives of the poor who cannot afford to buy other brands.
