MAURICE Hasa’s Kaleke Kasome is a tear-jerker. It attacks men who defile girls. Last Sunday, Hasa launched at Kiwuliza soccer grounds in Namuwongo.

Many people were moved to tears when he performed the song. They were touched by the lyrics. Hasa sang the song four times as his fans handed over money to him. Many children joined him on stage and sang along.

Kaleke Kasome is about defilement and appeals to parents and children alike. It comprises reggae and Afro beat and is based on a real-life experience.

When Hasa was young, his playmate was defiled and she bled to death. It took Maurice a long time to recover from the shock. When he started singing, the plight of the African child was his target for which he has vowed to stake his life and use the power of music to change.

The show was sponsored by Nile Special and Pepsi Cola.
