THE finance ministry has finalised plans to distribute a computer to every sub-county in Uganda. Dr Gideon Muhumuza, a commissioner in the ministry said computers would help the sub-counties track, record and store their financial data.
He said the computers would be used to track records on rural and urban micro-finance institutions working in the sub-counties.
He said the sub-counties would be obliged to show their income and expenditure properly.
Muhumuza also indicated that proper data keeping at the sub-counties would bring about proper planning.
He said this during a national dialogue on community information systems held at the Uganda Bureau of Statistics in Kampala.
