The Inspector General of Government (IGG) is probing Bukalasa Land Office over a multi-million financial scam. This followed a recent district Internal Audit report, which pinned the chief finance officer, Godfrey Segawa, on failure to account for sh3.4m, he illegally got from the cashier, Stella Nakiyingi. Nakiyingi was accused of plucking several receipts out of the receipt book, missing duplicates and serial numbers.

KABERAMAIDO
The Kaberamaido Secondary School headmaster, Balam Kagwa, faced the wrath of parents and board members over the delay in buying a school truck. The Government gave the school sh25m in December 2006 to buy another truck after rebels of the Uganda People’s Army (UPA) damaged the old truck during Teso insurgency.
