SOROTI-South Koreans from Gangnam-Gu district have donated equipment worth $130,000 (about 217m) to Ugandan students. The items that included 10,000 mosquito nets, a pick-up truck, 20 kilogrammes of cornseeds and medicine will be distributed in the districts of Mukono, Soroti and Kumi, to support the malaria prevention and control programme. The mayor of Gangnam-Gu, Jung-Joo Maeng, said: “No matter where a person may be in this world, they can never be alone. My people are extending this love to Uganda.â€
LC1 bosses rejected
NAMUTUMBA-Residents of Itonko village have rejected the LCl chairpersons approved by the town council, saying they were “illegal.†In a meeting held at Nakisa Primary School recently, James Nabongo, the LC1 chairman, said: “The Electoral Commission should tell us if it authorised private elections of chairpersons in Itonko village.â€
