CHRISTMAS for most people happens on December 25. However, I like to think that the whole of December right up to January 7 is the Christmas season.
This is an important consideration when you think about what to wear and what not to wear. Like all festive seasons, Christmas is about partying, eating, drinking, dancing and spending, moreover done in excess.
You are considered mean if you do not get an overdraft over Christmas. Unlike women, few men buy Christmas outfits but they like to get out their nice outfits, dust them off and go out to party.
Since the season ends around January 7, you still have plenty of time to get out that silk shirt you last wore at last year’s office party. Of course, there are other serious places to go such as church.
For some of you, this is the only time you ever go to church. This calls for over compensation and so getting out your favourite outfit is quite acceptable.
There are churches, of course, where the ‘sheep’ do not pay much attention to appearance and so jeans will suffice.
However, call me old fashioned but I think if you are going to church on Christmas day, give the jeans a break and put on a smart pair of trousers.
This can be teamed with a kitenge shirt or smart short sleeved shirt. If you feel like wearing a suit, go on. indulge yourself.
Whether it is church, your office party, a formal dinner or a rowdy evening watching football with friends, grooming is key.

Add fragrance to your list of grooming items and you will have a fantastic season.
