THERE will always be alluring shows at the end of year, especially the so-called “Two- year-dance parties”. But Brick & Lace, the Jamaican twins musical duo, is in town for a two-year concert. In the past, most of the foreign artistes who have come at this time of the year have already past their sell-by-date. Brick & Lace, however, are hot stuff at the moment.

Not only are they turning heads in native Jamaica, but also in other musically “mad” countries, including the US, where they got signed to big star, Akon’s Kon Live label. Brick & Lace (Nyanda and Nailah Thorbourne), will perform at Hotel Africana on December 31 and at Kati Kati on January 1.

The duo will host some of their fans to a meet and greet party at KFM gardens on Sunday. Fans will part with sh25,000, (sh50,000 VIP), for the Hotel Africana show and sh15,000 for Kati Kati.

Best known for their Love Is Wicked hit, popular on local airwaves and in dance clubs, the duo was born to a Jamaican father and an American mother and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, on a rich musical diet of reggae, R&B, hip hop, pop and country music.

It is this multi-genre background that has seen them traverse various “music borders” and work with talented people such as Akon, WILL.I.AM of Black Eyed Peas, Ron Fair, Cool & Dre, and Tony “CD” Kelly, producing their upcoming debut album also titled Love is Wicked.

Their other attractive tunes include Never Never and Push It, a racy dancehall track and the Akon co-written Get That Clear, a catchy copulation of dancehall and R&B.
