THE Forum  for Democratic Change  (FDC) deputy president Salaamu Musumba  has asked women  in Busoga to vote for change in the coming presidential  elections.

Addressing a rally at Idudi trading centre the on Jinja–Bugiri highway, Musumba said President Yoweri Museveni bid Ugandans farewell in 2001.

“His manifesto that he made himself categorically stated that he was standing for his last term.

"There is no way you voters can be fooled to again have someone who said bye long ago. Let’s vote for change,” Musumba said.
Museveni is responsible for the high number of prostitutes on our streets, Musumba said.

She said the President’s initiative to campaign for equality between women and men had turned many women into prostitutes.

“Men and women were created differently and cannot be equal. It is one reality Museveni has overlooked and ended up breaking up people’s homes, forcing women onto streets,” she said.

She said women agitating for equality had occasionally been left by men to fend for themselves yet they have no jobs.

“They keep referring to themselves as Museveni’s women, not knowing that he has his own wife who is far better off than them,” Musumba said.

She added, “None of you fits in the category of Museveni’s Janet. You are half-starved, poverty-stricken and illiterate women whom the president just flirts with.”
