Show-buzz round-up in 2005

LAST year was a good year for the movie buff even more than music lover.

LAST year was a good year for the movie buff even more than music lover. There have been unbelievable performances by actors like Henry Philip Seymour Hoffman and great comebacks like the Batman franchise after we thought Spiderman would have the last word on comic-based movies. As if that was not enough, one of the strong contenders for best movie of the year is a cartoon, sort of.
Last year was Juliana Kanyomozi’s breakout year just as Jose Chameleone lost his crown.
Eminem was the star attraction of the year but neither was it 50 Cent all the way as was expected. Music was more unpredictable and thus exciting.
The criteria used here is what was on offer at the major cinemas in town and if not there then in the video lib shelves and CD stock. Enjoy!

MOVIES
Sin City

A movie adaptation of Frank Miller’s comic about the many forms of love in a depraved fictional Sin City. Possibly the most innovative and entertaining movie of the year. Sequel coming up.
Four Brothers
John Singleton's return to form film about four brothers setting out to avenge the murder of their mother.
Slightly more complicated than this, Four Brothers featured notable performances by Terrance Howard.
