AFRICAN light middleweight champion Badru Lusambya’s managers have threatened to take action against promoter Danny Lutaya for trying to take over their fighter.

Big Strikers International Promotions said Lutaya held secret meetings with Lusambya, breaching a contract they have with the boxer.

“We await action from Uganda Professional Boxing Commission, which we have previously also informed of similar advances,” said Big Strikers director Emmanuel Mwesigwa.

Mwesigwa said Big Strikers were also filing a complaint to the Commonwealth Boxing Commission.

Lutaya runs Shakespeare Promotions that is in charge of Commonwealth featherweight champion Jackson Asiku.

“Lutaya has no right to negotiate with our fighter. That’s the very reason why we also can’t go into talks with his fighter Asiku because he is bound to Shakespeare,” Mwesigwa said.

“We don’t want anything from Lutaya. We have the capacity to organise fights anywhere. In fact we have a full year’s program for Lusambya,” stressed Mwesigwa.
