VARIOUS sections of The New Vision will have a new look this week as Uganda’s leading daily continues to evolve.

Women’s Vision, a supplement that targets the woman every Tuesday, will tomorrow take on a fresher look, that will include a change of name to Woman.

The other sections will be unveiled in the course of the week.
“We are constantly making the paper and its supplements more reader-friendly and reviewing the look and style,” said David Billington, the British design consultant who is working on the project.

“This time the supplements have received new treatment. The new approach is a cleaner, fresher look using different typefaces and better pictures. The result will make the New Vision and the Sunday Vision stronger and more accessible,” he said.

Weekend Vision, the main supplement on Friday, will now be called Weekend. A new section, Relate, to run on Saturday, will give readers a chance to meet new friends and partners.

Each week Relate will be inviting one lucky reader to choose from three potential partners. They will be entertained at a leading restaurant on a ‘date’ which will be featured in the paper the following week.

“It will be great fun. Modern journalism requires newspapers to continually renew themselves, and take their readers along,” said Editor-in-chief David Sseppuuya.
On Saturday, Children’s Vision will feature more cartoon strips and have more fun things to do. It will also be brighter and more action packed.

Homes is a vital new section that will run on Saturday. Each week, readers will be able to gauge how their area is performing and compare prices and housing availability.

The supplement will feature construction, interior decor, financial advice, houses and plots for sale, gardening and improving the value of your plot and house.

Saturday Soccer has already doubled in size, and with the Africa Nations Cup kicking off this week, The New Vision will offer a comprehensive coverage of Africa’s biggest sporting event.

Alive is a new Christian section in Sunday Vision that will highlight values of Christianity. Readers can follow services, get advice and read heart-warming stories of faith.
All the supplements will be complimentary to one another in style and approach.

Design, picture quality and writing have all been improved. There is a new approach in the creative use of white space and modern styles have been introduced to ease reading.
