Africana starts staff social security fund

HOTEL Africana has been lauded for being the only African enterprise in Uganda with a workers’ pension fund in addition to the mandatory National Social Security Fund (NSSF) contribution.
“Hotel Africana is the only African enterprise with a pension scheme for its workers, above NSSF’s contribution,†a human resource specialist with the Joint Clinical Research Centre, Gerald Nsubuga, said.
Hotel Africana’s general manager Paul Akivembe said the hotel is committed to ensuring contentment among its workers as a way of tapping their full potential.
“We want our workers to feel secure and contented about tomorrow because that will enable them give their best,†Akivembe said in an interview recently.
The hotel will have 35 jobs upon completion of the hotel’s extension wing in March.
