DAVID Tabaro made a brilliant start of himself when he beat Moses Musisi 3-0 to win the New Year UDA ranking darts Open on Sunday.
The victory put the Chills & Meals key figure on top of the rankings chart.
Veteran Musisi, making a comeback to competitive darts, caused quite a stir in the semi-finals as he clawed from behind to dislodge URA’s Isaac Oteba 3-1.
But Tabaro, a 3-0 winner over Samuel Berocan in the semi-finals, maintained a cool nerve. The Chills & Meals’ star took the lead with fantastic scores and did not look back at as he sealed the win with a 122 checkout at Makerere Guild Canteen.
The two-day meet also served as a build up to the Tanzanian Open due in Dar es Salaam February 10-12.
Peter Okitoi of Soroti beat Paul Kateregga 2-1 in the T-chart category.
The doubles victory went to Paul Kateregga/Chris Wabwire who triumphed 2-1 against James Okori and Berocan.
