THE Special Revenue Protection Services (SRPS) has impounded goods worth sh37m.

SRPS’ spokesman, Lt. Bahoku Barigye, told reporters in Bukoto, Kampala, on Tuesday, that the goods, which included cosmetics and polythene bags, were seized in Kibuli, a city suburb, on Monday.

He said SRPS had also stopped a taxi full of boxes of Tiger Head batteries in Masindi.
Barigye said in spite of the side effects of polythene bags on the environment, they are still one of the most frequently-smuggled goods into the country.
