UGANDA’S opening bowler Daniel Ruyange is still nursing a shoulder injury barely two weeks to the ICC U-19 youth World Cup in Sri Lanka. Action is due February 5-19.

The Uganda squad departs on Monday for a week of acclimatisation in the Indian Ocean state fully sponsored by the Africa Cricket Association (ACA) at sh20m.

Ruyange (above) sustained an injury during a trial match at Lugogo oval.

“I am steadily improving and I am sure I will be in good shape by the time of the tournament,” Ruyange said.

The youngster is a utility player who can extract pace and bounce from even docile wickets.
Vice captain Raymond Otim is also nursing a wound sustained on the waist.

Meanwhile, Uganda is set to play against Ireland and Zimbabwe in the ICC U-19 official warm up matches.

The matches will be played February 1-4. Uganda play against defending champions Pakistan in the first game of the 16-nation tournament on February 5.
