Shopping with children is supposed to be a most enjoyable event for the whole family. Besides, it may also save a parent the bother of going back to the supermarket when the shoe does not fit.

It also pays to show the kids where to buy the groceries and how to spend money. You never know…
But wait. Kids can also turn your shopping trip into a nightmare.

Attendants at Game, Lugogo agree that they have often seen parents get flabbergasted with over-demanding children. A child may want to walk out with a pack of candies or a teddy bear that the parent hadn’t budgeted for.
You either grant the child its wish or they will scream at the top of its lungs, sitting down on the floor and refusing to move. The more mischievous children may attempt some shoplifting.

Want to have fun when you go out to shop with the kids? Here’s how
Give them enough food before leaving home. Go along with a nanny or the child’s bigger sister.

If it is a baby, make sure that you go to a supermarket where the trolleys have an extension to carry the child in. Lugogo Game and Shoprite have such. Take along the child’s favorite toy. Always keep an eye on the kids or they might get lost in the alleys. Worse still, they may be tempted to shoplift.

Keep your little darling’s attention focused on different objects. Say, you could explain to him where different fruits/vegetable originated and how lucky he is, since he will be savoring them once you get home together.

To save yourself the hassle, let the kids amuse themselves at something else while you shop. There are kids’ games at garden city. A sure injunction against trouble is telling them beforehand that you are taking them out on condition that they don’t touch anything on the shelves.
