“Are you dreaming or you are just teasing me?†Naigaga asked when The New Vision broke the news to her.
Naigaga, a student of Hamdan Girls’ High School, had dropped out of school in Senior Two due to lack of fees.
The headmistress, Zaitun Kituyi, said a member of the school board and deputy mayor, Hajat Jamila Naleba, appealed to the school to allow her study on a hastily arranged scholarship.
“We had a programme where we gave sponsorship to the best performing students who are also disciplined,†Kituyi said.
Naigaga said she wants to become a doctor.
