THE Uganda Cycling Association (UCA) has revealed that Sunday 29 will be set aside for the association’s general assembly with the drawing of a road map for the development of cycling in 2007-2008 as the main theme.

Association chairman, Robert Kiwendo confirmed that the assembly will sit at the Lugogo Indoor stadium for the meet that starts at 9.00am.

The road map discussions will be followed by the review of the past cycling season and brainstorming for the Commonwealth games preparations and eventual participation.

“We hope to send a team of five riders for the Commonwealth games in Melbourne so we shall look at ways of getting them fit for the event,” Kiwendo said.

The national team riders are expected to start their preparations for the games by warming up in the 25-lap Diva King of the circuit-racing event at Lubiri next weekend.

The Association will also release the official 2006 cycling calendar after club officials have slotted in tournaments and events they plan to organize in 2006.
