Brigadier Noble Mayombo resigns from Parliament
BRIG. Noble Mayombo has resigned from parliament to take up his appointment of permanent Secretary in the defence ministry.

BRIG. Noble Mayombo has resigned from parliament to take up his appointment of permanent Secretary in the defence ministry.
In a January 30 letter to the Speaker of Parliament, Edward Ssekandi, mayombo said, “I have accepted the appointment. In accordance with chapter 10 of the Constitution, I have to resign the seat of Representative of UPDF in Parliament.â€
Mayombo has been an army representative in Parliament for a second term. He joined parliament in 1996 after he also represented the force in the Constituent Assembly.
He was recently appointed defence ministry Permanent Secretary by President museveni.
“It has been a great honour for me to represent our army in an elected people’s assembly since 1994. The UPDF will formally communicate to your office and make the necessary preparations to fill that seat,†he said.
Mayombo, while in Parliament, held the positions of deputy Chief of Military Intelligence, which he later took over as head, from Brig. Henry Tumukunde.
