The X-ray’s ability to blend a variety of music genres is the least of their attributes; their stage charisma and effervescence are their prized ticket.

The group, managed by Nick Wavamunno, acquired their love for music from their younger church-going-days as part of the choir.
“Barely two years together at No End Entertainment Studio, we have already done collaborations with Tanzanian rapper AY and Kenya’s Prezo,” says soft-spoken Zazu.

Most of their songs are in Kiswahili, Luganda and English. This is in an attempt to be marketable in the whole of East Africa.

Baby Boy, their latest single, is a Swahili love song with a catchy beat and can easily be sang along to. It talks about a couple whose resilience in the face of hatred and bad-mouthing strengthens their affection for each other. Tutamuka, the funky Swahili-English knack serenading Kampala lately, has the potential to replace Bobi Wine’s Omwana W’abandi or Bebe Cool’s Ssente.
