A TOTAL of 150 people crossed to the NRM party in Jinja district on Thursday and vowed to canvass votes for President Yoweri Museveni. The group of former FDC, DP and UPC supporters was received by the NRM voluntary mobilisers’ association led by Hassan Luzinda at Timton Hotel.
Seven held
The Police in Jinja have arrested seven people believed to be part of gang that has been terrorising pedestrians at night in Jinja town. The suspects were Walter Nyeko, Moses Okello, Faisal Seruyange, Moses Kasule, Geoffrey Mutebi, Luke Odama and Issa Magoola.
Man on theft
A man has appeared in court over stealing a charcoal stove and wire mesh, all valued at sh20,000. Gerald Maganda is said to have stolen the items from the home of Adam Lubwama on Kissinger road in Jinja town.
