<b>Takuba rally</b><br>KAMPALA — Work at Nakawa market came to a standstill on Wednesday when mayoral candidate Hasib Kabuye Takuba arrived.

KAMPALA — Work at Nakawa market came to a standstill on Wednesday when mayoral candidate Hasib Kabuye Takuba arrived. Takuba joined a dance led by Nvujo Cultural group, attracting vendors onto the stage. He said while deputy mayor, the council built markets and constructed toilets.

Man killed

KAMPALA — An unidentified man was on Tuesday crushed to death by a speeding city-bound train at the Wankoko railway crossing on Old Port Bell Road in the Industrial Area. Jinja Road Police Station officials said the man was sitting on the railway line before he was ran over by the hooting train. The station traffic chief, Richard Komakech, said the man was under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Muslims vow

KAMPALA — Muslims at Arua Park refused mayoral candidate Nasser sebaggala to stage queen dancers near the mosque. Sebaggala uses the dancers to spice up his rallies and attract supporters. Sebaggala’s chief campaign agent Ahmed Lucoda, said the dancers would be used at Kisekka market and Makindye division headquarters.

Police probe

MITYANA — The Police are investigating the cause of a clash between supporters of regional cooperation minister Nshimye Sebuturo and CBS FM presenter Jerome Kaddu Mukasa on Tuesday. The deputy Police spokesman, Patrick Onyango, said the clash occurred at Mityana Alliance School in Kabule where Mukasa was to address a rally.

KAMPALA — Mayoral candidate Hasib Kabuye Takuba has reminded his supporters to look out for the symbol of a hoe before ticking on the ballot paper. He said this at a rally at Nakawa Market on Wednesday.
