GATE charges for Super Division soccer league have been reduced in a bid to get fans back to the game.

Matches at Mutesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku and at other upcountry stadia are now fixed at sh1000 from sh3000 for the open stands.

Action at Mandela National stadium and at Nakivubo will be watched for sh2000.

But the pavilion fee of sh20000 remains for matches at Namboole and Nakivubo.

The changes in fees were agreed upon in a meeting of the premier division clubs, stadium heads, Super Division Clubs Association (SDCA) and FUFA competitions committee on Thursday.

FUFA CEO Charles Masembe, said the meeting was called to draw fresh plans to get fans back to matches.

“The meeting also came up with a decision on how to handle the fundraising element,” Masembe said.

Matches with this arrangement will cost sh3500 at Namboole and Nakivubo. At Wankulukuku and other upcountry venues, the charge will be sh2000.

FUFA president Lawrence Mulindwa joined the meeting at one point and offered 5 balls to every super division team to be handed over on Tuesday.

Bunnamwaya club secretary Haruna Kyobe, said the offer will boost the club’s efforts.

A number of other proposals have been brought forward to attract fans to the league games.
