VICTOR handed champions Police their first defeat of the league last week. If they beat former champions SC Villa today, they will emerge as clear title contenders to Express and the Cops. Villa seem to have recaptured their past form after their 2-0 win over KB Lions last Tuesday, but they must win to keep in touch with the leaders.
Victor are at the summit of the table with 16 points and have not lost a game at home.
“We will take it like any other match though I will still have to do without Phillip Ssozi, Robert Kabanda and first choice keeper Mohammad Moshi,†Victor coach Sula Kato said.
Yuda Mugalu, joint top scorer with four goals, will certainly be a threat to Villa’s back four.
In the other game, URA FC might not risk fielding key figures David Kiwanuka, David Kazibwe, Ronald Kamoga and Richard Malinga going into their home tie against Mbale Heroes at Namboole stadium.
Coach Deo Sserwadda will fancy having his four players fully recovered from a range of injuries ahead of the side’s CAF Confederations Cup preliminary, second leg tie against Kenya’s World Hope.
“I might not play my first team out there today with the Saturday game in mind,†Sserwadda said.
League debutantes KB Lions and Maji FC will face-off at Wankulukuku stadium.
