Teso, North need not apologise

SIR – I have read in the media people in Teso and Northern Uganda being advised to apologise to President Museveni for voting change. Why?

SIR – I have read in the media people in Teso and Northern Uganda being advised to apologise to President Museveni for voting change. Why?

As Ugandans they exercised their right to vote the person they thought would relieve them of their poverty, Kony and Karimojong warriors.

There is no more meaningful economic activity going on in these areas today due to insecurity. The Government spent a lot of money setting up milk processing plants in western Uganda and wiping out ADF rebels, whereas little effort has been put to Teso and Northern Uganda.

These people are left with nothing other than watching fellow Ugandans, especially those in the western region, enjoy all the wealth, clean water, good roads and security. I challenge the President, as a good leader, not to see these people as enemies of the state but rather as fellow Ugandans who deserve equal opportunities and privileges.

Their reasons for voting for change should be considered other than thinking they owe the President an apology. They do not.
