All roads will today lead to Kololo Airstrip where the NRM will hold a celebration party to mark its victory in the recently-concluded presidential, parliamentary and local council elections.
The function is scheduled to start at 9:00am and will be presided over by President Yoweri Museveni.
Moses Byaruhanga, the President’s political aide, yesterday said the party was being held due to immense pressure from supporters who have been celebrating the NRM’s victory since last Saturday.
“Since results were declared last Saturday, our supporters have been eagerly waiting for a rally,†he said.
Since being declared winner of the presidential elections, Museveni has been at his home in Rwakitura and only returned to Kampala on Wednesday, amid massive crowds jamming city roads to welcome him. The NRM also took a clear majority in the parliamentary elections.
