By Geresom Musamali THE family of the late Dr. Apollo Milton Obote still occupies a Zambian Government house because Uganda has not fully facilitated the return of Obote’s dependants and property. Obote died in October last year. He had occupied the house at 15 Chasiza Tunduza Avenue in Lusaka’s Kabulonga Longacres suburb, for almost 20 years. Dr. Henry Opio-Ote, the personal physician to the Obotes, said recently many Ugandan children of exiles who died while in Zambia are still occupying the house. Opio-Ote, who could not give the exact number of orphans, said Ben Opieto, one of Obote’s sons, also lived the house. Opio-Ote said he was negotiating with the Uganda Government to see whether the children can be repatriated. He said the Obote family also had valuable property in the house, adding that he was in contact with internal affairs minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda to see how best to handle the situation. He said they wanted to first deal with campaigns. Ends
