Odomel knows why he lost

SIR – I was amused to read a story titled “Odomel Petitions Electoral Commission (EC) Over Loss” in your February 28 issue. By now Cossy Odomel should have known the origin of his failure in these elections. After losing, Odomel disappeared from his electorate until recently when the NRM primaries were about to be conducted. Petitioning the EC over the creation of new centres does not help because it was also Odomel’s role to sensitise people about old and new polling stations. Is he telling people from Pallisa that it was only his supporters who did not know about the new polling stations even when he had a list of them? His poor mobilisation also made our NRM presidential candidate to perform poorly in the district. In his campaigns, Odomel only kept telling people not vote for Opange because he has nowhere to go, yet Opange was busy telling people about his plans and how he has no problem working with Museveni. Our brother Odomel needs to just accept defeat and return to the people. The year 2011 is not far.
