TIMBER traders and cutters in Mukono have asked the Government to legalise cutting of timber using power saws to enable them increase output, writes Robert Kalemba.
“We want the Government to legalise cutting of timber using power saws so that our output increases. We have been using hands to cut timber because the law prohibits us from using machines, but that is dangerous, very risky and tiresome,” Majeran Luboyera, the timber traders’ spokesman, said.
The timber traders were meeting Lieutenant General Salim Saleh over problems in their business.
