PATRICK Kabuye, a Ugandan coach based in Germany, is interested in the Cranes job. Kabuye who was in Uganda last year and conducted clinics said his application and resume will be presented to FUFA this week.

“I strongly believe in my abilities to handle the coaching challenges,” stressed Kabuye.

The former U-19 and U-23 international also played for KCC as a defender before securing a sports scholarship in the US.

Kabuye is in the final stages of attaining one of the top coaching certificates — the UEFA Grade A coaching license. He holds US Soccer Federation Level A coaching license besides several other coaching qualifications.

His resume also has a bachelors and masters degree in Kinesiology from the University of Texas El Paso. Kinesiology is the study of the anatomy, physiology, and mechanics of body movement, especially in humans.

Kabuye has coached several youth and senior sides in Germany and USA, where he is also a board member of the Olympic Development Program (ODP). ODP is a program intended to identify the best youth soccer players in the US from U-14 to U-18.

A German Gunter Zittel, who was in Uganda as a technical director during Dennis Obua’s reign, was the first to apply for the coaching job.

Kabuye strongly believes he is the right man for the job previously held by Egyptian Muhammad Abbas. Abbas was sacked last week for failure to deliver.

“My experience at national team level and in KCC FC plus exposure at college and semi-professional level in the US should be helpful to Uganda,” said Kabuye.
