THE High Court in Fort portal on Wednesday ordered Toro Queen Mother Best Kemigisa to stop interfering in the administrative matters of the kingdom.

Court presided over by registrar John Baptist Segirinya also issued an interim injunction restraining Nyabongo Rwakijuma from acting as Prime Minister of Toro when he had resigned.

The ruling follows an interim injunction filed by Toro regents Isaya Kalya, Zaveriyo Byabagambi and Oswald Ndoleriire, stopping Rwakijuma from acting as Prime Minister and Kemigisa from interfering in kingdom affairs.

Segirinya ruled that Kemigisa and Charles Kamurasi, the head of the royal family, should concentrate on activities of the palace and not those of the kingdom, as is written in the kingdom’s constitution. He said it was illegal for Kemigisa to close the kingdom offices in Mucwa. None of the defendants were present at the court.

Last year in November, the kingdom offices were closed and tightly guarded by the royal guards on the instructions of Kemigisa after David Rusa was appointed prime minister. The closure of the offices hindered the staff, including the regents, from carry out the kingdom’s business
