THE Police on Monday arrested two employees of Open Gate FM radio station in Mbale for allegedly failing to release recordings of a controversial talk-show in which President Yoweri Museveni was branded a thief, reports Nathan Etengu.

The programme producer, David Opio and his assistant, Polycarp Ongole-Manase, were picked from the station in the afternoon. The Police also confiscated the station’s computers from where they downloaded the talk-show presented by the Budadiri West MP Nathan Nandala Mafabi in the last 12 weeks.

The district CID officer, Isaac Oketcho, however, said the Saturday programme in which Mafabi defamed the president could not be traced.

“They claim that the computers failed to record the programme. We, however, have a strong reason to believe that they deliberately deleted that particular programme,” Oketcho said.
