Spencon Services Ltd has won a euros 18.75m (sh40b) tender to install pipe water in Mubende Town Council.

Spencon Services Ltd has won a euros 18.75m (sh40b) tender to install pipe water in Mubende Town Council.

The project is going to be funded by the European Union, which will provide euros 17.25m and the Government that will contribute euros 1.25m.

The pipe water system was designed to benefit 24,910 people and cover 50 kilometres with 1,500 connections.

During the commissioning of the project at Kabalanga Treatment Works in Mubende, the acting managing director of the Directorate of Water Development, Shillingi Mugisha, said the Government had awarded the contract on merit and work is expected to be completed within 15 months.

“The project’s objective is to provide safe and adequate water,” he said.
