FORMER Cranes coach Muhammad Abbas (left) is willing to talk to SC Villa if he is approached for a job.
“I am ready to talk with Villa and if we agree terms, I would take it up,” the Egyptian said.

“There are many talented footballers in this country, I would like to help them excel.”

Villa is without a substantive coach after former international goalkeeper Sam Timbe moved to league champions Police last week.

Timbe, who joined Villa in 2004, quit following sustained pressure from the club fans.

The fans made it difficult for Timbe to do his job after the club’s indifferent start to the season. The coach then took a low profile before he joined Police.

Timbe’s former assistant Ibrahim Kirya and Joogo Young coach Paul Nkata have been in charge since their boss left.

Abbas, who guided Cranes to the semi finals of the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup last year, wants to continue working in Kampala.

The coach, who got the Cranes job in 2004, was sacked by FUFA early this month. He was taken on under an exchange programme between Uganda and the Egypt governments.

He was first fired by the FUFA normalisation committee last year. Sports state minister Charles Bakkabulindi reversed the decision.
